Frequently asked questions
Why should I register my trademark?
Registration grants exclusive rights to the trademark and allows you to act against unauthorised use. Without registration, proving and enforcing your rights becomes considerably more difficult.
Is a trademark registered in Azerbaijan protected in other countries?
No. Trademark protection is territorial. Protection in other countries requires a separate national registration or an international registration through the Madrid System.
Does copyright require registration?
No. Copyright arises automatically from the moment a work is created, without any registration. However, we recommend documenting authorship and the date of creation in advance, as this makes it much easier to prove your rights if a dispute arises.
